Today we pay tribute to our Heroes and sole Heroine whose lives remain a very significant part of our history. We will do so through cultural dances, songs prayers and other national activities.
These heroes dared to be different when they demonstrated those unselfish acts of bravery for our freedom. These are good by themselves but as a people what are we doing to preserve these heroic acts? I think we could begin by showing our appreciation, and respect for our National Symbols; namely, our flag, our anthem and our pledge which are outcomes from those heroic acts.
Regrettably, our people, both young and old are still unsure of the words of the National Anthem and it is even more sad that some refuse to stand or do not stand correctly when the anthem is being played or sung.
Come on; let's continue to cultivate that sense of pride and dignity for these National symbols.
